Pistol found in Irving, Texas

My girlfriend and I tried a new area in Irving, Texas today and met with AMAZING results.

I found a small caliber pistol, a seine net, rebar, bolts, nuts, lug nuts, deese nuts, a rail spike, two batteries, screws, nails, brake pads, a ball bearing, and lots of mystery items.

Cleaning up treasures from magnet fishing has become my new hobby.

After the awesome experience I had restoring the sledge hammer found magnet fishing, I wanted to keep going. I soaked a horseshoe, ball bearing, a strange metallic circle, and a pair of pliers in 30% vinegar for a week. After that they were off to the vice for wire brush cleaning. Overall it was a fun time. The pliers have a neat engraving on the handles. The horse seems to old in my opinion, but I'm not expert. I have no idea what the circle was but it fell apart on the back side. The ball bearing required no wire brush as the vinegar worked exceptionally well.

Found some awesome treasure in Wichita Falls, Texas

I visited my hometown and remembered a historic bridge that I've never fished. Upon arrival we noticed the water was extremely shallow so we picked up some decent water shoes from academy and walked down below.

I found what I thought was a musket ball, but it turned out to be something else. Musket balls are made from lead or pewter, which is not magnetic.

Much of our finds had been down there for a long time. We actually had to take a hammer to almost everything featured in picture 4 to uncover what they were. (All the build up is to the left)

Other finds:

•A horseshoe

•Nails

•Rail spikes

• 2 Locks

•A set of lock keys

•A giant chain link

•Steel piping

•A cylinder.

•A tape measure

Update: Sledge hammer caught refurbished

The sledge hammer I caught a few weeks back has a nice soak in 30% vinegar for two weeks. Afterwards my buddy and I spent the Sunday making it operational. I have to admit it was a lot of fun
