Is there any way to report discriminatory behavior by NYC park staff / court managers?
Played at McCarren tennis court for the second time today (first time there yesterday) and had a really uncomfortable experience with the female park manager. She walked directly onto the court in the middle of our game to accuse us of taking photos, even though we were literally just playing tennis quietly. No posing, no filming setup, no disruption to anyone.
Then she claimed she had “already warned us last week” — except we were not even there last week.
The whole interaction felt extremely targeted and honestly racist. It was hard not to feel like we were being treated as if we didn’t belong there for simply existing on the court.
Has anyone dealt with something similar before? Is there an actual way to report discriminatory behavior by park staff?
