I made the mistake of being on my husband’s insurance as well as my own when giving birth to my son last March. They billed my husbands insurance as the primary, and come November - the insurance had already paid and then pulled back their payment for not being the primary. Then started the back and forth with the hospital / my insurance to get it billed correctly. I’ve been back and forth with them numerous times. I called the hospital again earlier this month and it appears as though they finally submitted the claim (from what my insurance could tell, at least). Problem is, this is >365 days and now my insurance is refusing to pay it and said I’m not held responsible unless I signed something stating otherwise. I don’t even remember signing any forms during my hospital stay but who knows. The hospital offered financial assistance today 🫠 what can I do?
