AITB I accidentally broke my brother’s tablet and now he won’t talk to me
I (17M) accidentally dropped my brother’s tablet yesterday and the screen shattered. My brother (19M) and I are usually really close and almost never fight, so this whole thing feels awful.
The second it happened I apologized and offered to pay to fix it, even though I don’t currently have a job. I’ve already been looking for work before this happened, and I told him I’d do odd jobs for some people
I know or whatever I need to do to come up with the money. I think with AppleCare it might be around $50, maybe more without it, but honestly I’m not even sure yet.
He told me to just leave him alone and now he barely wants to talk to me. I kept apologizing because I feel genuinely guilty, but I know I probably should give him some space.
What’s making me more nervous is that I know the rest of my family is eventually going to hear about it, and I’m scared they’re all going to judge me for being careless. Especially my parents.
I’m not posting this for sympathy. I just feel really bad about it and don’t really have anyone to talk to right now I know I’m in the wrong and I know I’m asshole I just need advice .
