One cat finished her 84 days, he sister diagnosed with wet FIP the same day.
So after a long 12 weeks, my baby Willow finally got the all clear from Ocular FIP, her eye hasn't fully recovered but she's doing great.
On the same day as her last GS-441524 dose, her little sister collapsed and was rushed to the vets gasping for air. Fern has been diagnosed with wet FIP and IMHA. She is severely anaemic, her PCV was at 8% and so received a blood transfusion from a dog! There was no cat blood available in my area and it was an emergency so the vet brought her dog in to donate blood for transfusion. I am forever grateful and didn't even realise that this could work.
I am really just looking for some advice. She's eating very little and on antibiotics and steroids as well as her GS. Is anaemia reversible or is such a low PCV mean she's too far gone? After transfusion it went up to 11% but the vets seemed to think it should've risen more. We're only on day 5 of GS. She looks so much brighter than before and has some energy but I'm worried she's not strong enough to fight.
Both are indoor cats, aged around 2. I'm so exhausted, finally got her home from the vets yesterday and she looks so weak and sad. I feel so useless, both of them getting FIP so close together. What am I doing wrong? I love them so much and I'm terrified she won't make it.
(Pic of them being friends for once. Think I need a bigger window bed...)
