The term “larper” is more annoying than the “larpers” themselves

I’ve played every resident evil game with my first being RE4 when it came out originally but I’ve been called a larper when I didn’t know niche trivia questions or every single piece of lore in the series. I feel like larper is just a term used by chronic redditors to paint themselves as a huge super fan and everyone else as less than them.

I don’t care if someone has only played requiem and starts talking about it, good on them. Encourage them to try out the other games and if they don’t like the tank control era of the series, oh well.

Like it’s a fuckjng video game series and grown ass men are sitting on the internet making fun of kids or really anyone who just has slightly less knowledge on RE than them. There’s obviously people who “pretend to be RE fans” who haven’t played the series but who fucking cares? I just ignore them.

I love resident evil but people like this have overtaken all the communities and make the discussions about larpers and how the new games are so bad rather than just talking about what they do like. Like I said I’ve been playing the games for over 20 years and have played every mainline game and I still prefer some of the modern games but apparently that makes me a larper.
