Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone else has had a similar experience or if you could give me some advice on using the Zero Feel SPF from Geek & Gorgeous. It’s a really great SPF—it feels nice, doesn’t sting, and doesn’t burn. But texturally, it bothers me a lot, and I must be doing something wrong because everyone else raves about the texture.
Whatever I apply underneath it, the SPF immediately absorbs any moisture and leaves a powdery feeling on my face. When I run my finger over it, it’s as if powder literally sticks to my finger. I also find it very difficult to apply any makeup on top of it (eyeshadow, blush, concealer, etc.). It leaves me with dry patches, and the SPF residue settles into my wrinkles. It looks like I applied a setting powder and didn’t blend it into my skin.
I have combination and extremely acne-prone skin. I can’t imagine how I’d even use it with tretinoin, which I’ve currently paused. I also feel like this spf (or maybe the dehydration) has started giving me whiteheads. So I thought maybe someone else also had (has) this problem and just needed to switch something up in their routine. I don’t want to give up on the SPF that’s 75ml for €12 and doesn’t irritate my face.
When I go through my morning routine, my skin feels hydrated and moisturized to the touch before I apply this SPF, and it doesn’t feel tight. So I don’t think my skin is lacking moisture before I apply the SPF.
In the morning, I rinse my face with water and then use G&G Liquid Hydration and La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermallergo Fluide. I also tried Hydration Station, but the result was the same. I know that instead of alcohol, other ingredients were used to create that powdery effect, but according to G&G and the internet, it works for people with dry skin too if they apply cream underneath. So I don't know where I'm going wrong. Thanks for any advice.
