Is the price of the 2021-2022 Prius XLE going down respectively with time as opposed to miles?
Hey Prius Owners! I currently have a 2021 Tuscon SEL with 47k miles, non hybrid. Its a nice looking car, however due to the seldom reliability with theta 2 hyundai engines, combined with the relatively low MPG. and the change in workplace (requires me to commute 80 miles a day) i was looking into the toyota prius, the previous generation of vehicles that seem to be reliable high mpg cars that have casual style. Thing is, due to the car market, I am concerned with rhe current prices that im seeing on low milage priuses. Since these priuses are approaching the 5 year mark, would you expect there to be a drastic decrease in prices soon, or should I plan on buying one sooner? My Tuscon could sell for atleast 17k, but the payoff loan for it is still 14.5k. Meaning I have a positive approximate 2.5k on this vehicle, which could be used as a down payment, although my credit score is currently suffering a bit at 620 which will inevitably increase within the next two to three months.
On one hand I want to wait due to possibility of price reductions, on tbe other hand im concerned with the sef destructible theta 2 engine. My dad went 10k miles without giving it an oil change, (before I took over the car, its still in his name but im making payments and consents for me to refinance in my name) meaning the 100k warranty is probably voided.
