So I recently decided to get myself a Sony Cybershot because I’ve been wanting this specific model for a very long time for casual use and it won’t work :(
When I “slide” it open, it usually doesn’t turn on BUT occasionally it will play the “turning on” jingle with the “Sony Cybershot” text displayed on the screen to signal it is on for about 1 second before turning off again. It is basically unusable currently.
On/off button doesn’t work. Battery is fully charged, I haven’t tested the SD card yet. I cleaned battery contact. I cleaned the camera lens. I tried taking out the SD card and battery for a longer period of time. When both battery and SD card were removed, I tried draining remaining power using on/off button.
I have yet to buy a new camera battery to test because it doesn’t feel like a battery problem? But also I am not very knowledgeable about this so if anyone has better diagnostics advice or information on what this problem might be that would helpful 🥲
I don’t wanna give up on this camera just yet bc I just bought it from someone who had seemingly really good reviews💔
