Hi me and my partner are doing voluntary family based Services for the department here in Tx. Is it normal for them to make me get a job when I’m already a full time student in college and my husband makes enough to support us and our kids. They don’t seem to care I’m in school and I’m also doing the classes they’re requiring of me so I don’t even know how they expect me to do all 3. Any advice? Should I tell them no I’m not going to work? I’m 34 and can’t keep holding off on school , this case was opened for marijuana and verbal arguments between me and my partner.

Hello all. Was wondering if anyone has experience getting their cps records in a timely manner. I was told 12-18 months and when I login to check the status (it’s been 8 months) it says it’s in the assigned stage still. Are lawyers able to get the records faster?

Hi all! I spoke to my attorney and she said she’s waiting on DFPS to give her all records from the past regarding my daughter and me. Ex has coached child to lie about abuse etc. lawyer said we can’t proceed without the cps records since they are great evidence , I forgot to ask her how long that process usually takes…. Any other attorneys in Texas know how long it takes to receive the records? I had requested them on my own last year and got a time line of 18 months. Is it quicker when a lawyer requested them for their client? Thank you for your time.

My attorneys office said the stuff they’ve filed hasn’t even been processed and it’s been a few weeks. Is this normal? I’m in Texas. There’s been extreme false allegations. All ruled out by cps but disgusting none the less. So in my mind I feel like I have provided excellent evidence but I’ve not talked to the actual lawyer since the consult. She has great reviews on fb and Google, I even hired her bc a case she had settled within a month for another client on fb. He posted his story and I was moved and hopeful. Now I just feel like nothings happening. To me it’s an emergency. I guess not though to her or the court 🤔
