I watched it like 20y ago or more, on TV, so must be a 80s or 90s movie. The main, male character (my brain thinks it's Mathew Broderick or John Cusack), says something latin like that, and explains it is a phrase you say when you don't know what else to say.

The phrase may sound something entirely different as I was a kid when I wrote it down. The movie may have been a romantic comedy or something.
