I took my 9 year old toy poodle to the vets again this week, she was violently vomitting Monday night and Tuesday got her in, thought she might have eaten something on her walk. Gave her an anti sickness injection, did mention her tooth was wobbly too (which I didn’t know it’s a small moler next to her canine). Tuesday night she had a couple of mouthfuls of shredded turkey and yesterday she tried some too. But I weighed her today and she lost 350g since Tuesday. Her appetite has gone, she’s been more lethargic and can’t really walk far. So took her today and thought it was her tooth causing her pain, but turns out after a blood test she has either kidney disease or renal failure. We thought her excessive thirst was due to her being sick and having that long walk on Monday, didn’t think she was excessively drinking. Just thought she was struggling with food. She did go for wee’s but then takes a few steps to lie down. She’s currently with the vets 😭 they’re going to do fluids over night to see if her bloods adjust or anything. I can’t remember if it’s creatinine or urea but it wouldn’t read as it’s so high. She’s only little, I just don’t know what to do. Is this the end for her or? She’s mine and my mums world, she’s been my best friend and i don’t know what I’d do without her.
