Is this situation normal? We have HVAC PTSD.

We have HVAC PTSD. Sometime towards the end of the pandemic we thought it would be a good idea to take our main Lennox HVAC unit on our two zone 2700 sq ft detached house and upgrade it to something more energy efficient. In hindsight now, I wish we would have left it alone. The smaller zone 2 Lennox, just keeps chugging along. Zone 1 was first replaced with a Diakon unit that was a true lemon. It would just stop working. Our service company could not figure out what what wrong with it. This went on for a long period of time, and our service company was just as angry and frustrated at the manufacturer as we were. Finally we told them to replace it with a Lennox. They did. That one worked fine up until now, about 2 years later. It will just stop working, and the smart phone looking thermostat will either be completely black and unresponsive, or it will look like it's working, but it's not cooling. The first indication is always when we step into the master bedroom and it is noticeably warmer in there. The repair people have now been here every other day for three weeks and we're really tired of it. It's working right now. When it goes down we have two AC units that sit on the floor and vent out the window which works when the temperatures are moderate, but if the temps were triple digits, it doesn't work as well. Is this normal for most people to have to go through this so often. They've told us it's control-board issues so they replaced it; clogged water something; part failures. And they never seem to have the parts available. We have to wait for them to get them shipped in, then there are backorders, and I'm. So. Tired. Of. This. Where we live, AC is not a luxury, it's necessary survival survival equipment, and I have health issues that don't do well with too much heat.
