For my PCOS peeps - we have a new name Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome

An Australian led initiative at Monash University has led the charge to change the name of PCOS to more accurately reflect the true breadth of the condition.

Personally I think it's a great move. Although simple it's more accurate and as people take its wider reach more seriously and stop think of it as "just a fertility issue" there should come more research and treatment options.

I was on a few surveys which helped determine the new name. The options were endless but I think this is a good enough improvement (for now).

For those wondering why I have put this in the Mounjaro forum. The "endocrine and metabolic" disorder part of the syndrome is why. GLP1s are being shown in research to be a real game changer as a treatment option for PMOS. If I had access to something like this when I was diagnosed at 55-60kg I wouldn't have ended up being 89kg with a truck load of additional issues.
