SteamOS Desktop
I don’t know anything about computers but I want to upgrade my gaming system (ps4). I don’t want to upgrade to a PS5 and would rather have something similar to what a Steam Machine will be. Are there any good prebuilt gaming desktops currently that I could buy and put steamOS onto and use as a steam machine. Really I’m asking if you have seen any good deals recently. Also, I’m not going to commit to learning about computer specs but if you had a “if I had to tell my boomer family member what specs to look for in a gaming desktop” list that would be dope. Hopefully not breaking any rules even though I’m sure I am but I don’t know where else to ask as the rule that I’m probably breaking points me to gaming laptop subreddits. Thanks!
Edit: would be using to play anything from 2k online, GTA 6, and FPS online. Budget would be preferably under 1k but also would like to know if that’s unrealistic. Also don’t need the best graphics, just want smooth gameplay.
