Hi I have only had 3 sessions of edmr. The first two were ok but I got huge anxiety out of nowhere 4 days later. I have chronic pain and bad nerve sensitivity and my body flares with anxiety or stress. The next session I asked if we could go slower. Instead we did a long session- a lot of nothings came up like my brain didn’t want to play. I left crying though and I’ve had a massive flare (can’t walk) within 2-3 days which is worse from a mental health point of view. We never do any grounding in the session- my therapist just tells me to go my safe space when I need (we never actually do it in session). Is this normal? I’m just concerned how experienced my therapist is in this. What is a typical session for others?
