I am looking for a speaker that can fill the space between the monitor and the rest of the desk.

I am considering either a sound bar since it has the correct profile to fill the gap or a smaller portable style speaker to fill the gap.

I don't mind placing the speaker behind the monitor a little to compensate for something that is taller than I can allow here.

I don't mind using bookshelf speakers but I hear mixed reviews about laying them horizontally.

The reason I do not want to have bookshelf speakers standing vertically is because they'll either sit behind the monitor muffling the sound or get in the way of when I swivel the monitor into its other position.

Budget is at $200 I am willing to go a little higher only if the quality is orders of magnitude better.

Speakers I've looked at is:

  • Edifier D16
  • Sonos Ray
  • Edifier MR3
  • Audioengine B2

Any suggestions or overhauls are appreciated.

Available dimensions are 30" x 5.25" directly underneath the ultra wide. I can sit the speaker slightly behind the edge of the monitor to gain double the height.

Monitor is G9 OLED ultrawide.
