Hey guys it’s my friends birthday tomorrow and we’ve known each other around 12ish years, I am also we live together so I decided to decorate our flat and get her a cake for when she gets back tomorrow as a surprise. I’ve asked her what her plans were previously and she didn’t really say anything so i was like cool.
Anyway I decorated the flat and then I received a text from her saying she will be back in the evening tomorrow then is going out with her other friends at 7. I’m not invited and I feel a bit silly as I’ve gone out of my way to make the flat really festive and I’m now just going to be sat by myself with the cake as she’ll only be back for 2 hours.
This is where I need advice, she’s going out with her main friendship group (who I have never met due to her never introducing me). Before we were flatmates she always referred to me as her best friend, so I’m pretty bummed out that now we live together I’m not invited to her birthday drinks. I always invite her to my birthday outings with my friends as I like my closest friends to meet each other at least a few times!
I don’t know wether I have the right to feel upset about this as I know some people don’t like mixing friends however I fail to see the issue with me joining her and her friends for a couple of hours for a few drinks.
Any advice would be really welcome!
