Hey everyone,

I own a (2011 model). I bought it second-hand about 2 years ago, and I’ve ridden it around 10,000 km since then — most of that within the last 15–16 months.

Recently, the engine has started showing issues, and my mechanic says it needs a full engine rebuild. He quoted around ₹10–12K, and said it could go up to ₹13K max depending on what needs replacing after opening it up.

Here’s my situation:

- I’ll be in this city for only about 1 more year, so I need the bike for daily use until then.

- After that, I’m planning to sell it.

- I’m unsure if putting ~₹12K into an engine rebuild is worth it considering the bike’s age and resale value.

My questions:

  1. Is a full engine rebuild worth it in this case?

  2. Will I recover any of that cost when I sell the bike?

  3. Are there any temporary or partial fixes that could last me another year safely?

  4. What would you do if you were in my position?

Would really appreciate advice from mechanics and experienced riders here. Thanks in advance!

Currently one value spring is damaged ,the piston rings are worn down and due to that it doesn't start

I forgot to mention about using another year in the previous post

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a that’s about 15 years old now. It still gives decent mileage, but the engine is worn out and likely needs a full rebuild.

I’ve been quoted around ₹10–12k for a complete engine job, and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth doing before selling the bike.

- Will a full engine rebuild actually help me get a better resale price?

- Or is it unlikely that I’ll recover that cost?

- Do buyers value a rebuilt engine on older bikes like this, or does it not make much difference?

Would really appreciate any real experiences or advice. Thanks!
