Yes, Bayern didn’t play their best game. Yes, tactically it was a horrible start with the high line, conceding from the first shot on target in the 3rd minute … but at that level, such mistakes by the referee and the consequential influence on the game are massive. It destroys the morale of the players and kills potential momentum. Playing 2/3 of the game 11 vs. 10 is a huge advantage. It felt similar to Anthony Taylor vs Germany in the Euro quarterfinals against Spain.

It’s crazy that FIFA hasn’t allowed any VAR interference for a potential second yellow card yet, but only for a straight red card. They might (and probably will) change it soon, which makes it even worse for Bayern. How on earth could the 4th official tell the referee it was handball by Laimer? He was far away. It almost seems like Pinheiro made it up and why didn’t he whistle immediately then? Something really smells fishy here.

The Bayern officials need to complain much more publicly, just like Flick and Laporta do, in order to increase the pressure. It genuinely feels like Bayern have had every controversial decision called against them over the last ten years.

Overall, though, you also have to say that Enrique is tactically quite a bit ahead of Kompany. The wings were almost completely shut down yesterday. Marquinhos’ man-marking against Luis Díaz also worked perfectly. Tactically, Kompany still has a lot to learn.

You could also somehow see that, even though Hoeneß said at the beginning of the season that the squad was sufficient, the squad depth simply wasn’t enough for the decisive final stretch of the season. If you compare what Paris can bring on from the bench compared to us, then the difference is already pretty significant.

What do you think about that situation and the game in general?

I want to move away from smartphone photography, but I’ve been stuck in decision paralysis for weeks. Initially, I leaned towards MFT (like the OM-5 or GX9) because of the better price-to-performance and smaller, cheaper lenses compared to full frame. However, I realized that the OM-5’s video capabilities aren’t great, and the GX9’s autofocus isn’t reliable enough for toddlers and kids. Since I want to shoot both photos and videos of my family (especially a toddler), and improve beyond my iPhone 15 Pro Max (which looks great out of the box, but I want more control and quality), I’m now looking for a nice-looking hybrid camera in a compact/retro style. I’d like to keep the option open to capture moments like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFcfRgXXODw

Summary:

Budget: 1300 Dollar $ body only/ <2000 $ with lens/es

Condition: New or used

Intended use: 70 % Photography / 30 % Video

End use: Occasionally up to larger prints, social media, HQ video footage for larger screens

Photography style: Toddler/children still & in action, portraits, landscape, street

Video style: Toddler/Children in everday life, travel videos, city/traffic

What features do you absolutely need: IBIS, good AF for moving subjects, HQ video

Portability: Pocketable as EDC and for traveling with option to shoot with a telezoom lens

Cameras considered/considering: OM-5, Lumix GX9, Sony a6700 (not retro in a narrower sense but ok), Lumix S9, Fujifilm XE-5 (feel free to suggest others)

Questions to those who used different formats and models:

  • Would something like the Lumix S9 (or Sony a6700) be overkill for a beginner, or would too much of my budget go into the body instead of building a versatile lens setup?
  • Would it make more sense to start with a cheaper and focal-length-varied, more photo-focused MFT setup and pair it with something like a DJI Osmo Pocket for video (even though it’s fixed focal length but very pocketable)?
  • Are videos from the S9 (without professional skills or heavy LUT/color grading) noticeably better than my iPhone, or would I end up disappointed?
  • Is the lack of a mechanical shutter a significant disadvantage for a beginner, aside from technical aspects — mainly in terms of feedback, sound, and the overall photographic feel (compared to a “real” shutter click)?

Thanks a lot in advance!
