French long stay visa: is it three calendar months or 90 days limitation to apply for visa

The France Visa website states that you can’t apply more than 3 months before the start date of a long stay visa.

I wanted to clarify if this meant three calendar months e.g., May 11 to August 11, or three "90 day months", so May 11 to August 9....

French student visa entry date: Will they reject my application OR simply give me a different date

If the consulate does not like my anticipated entry date, will they reject my application, or simply give me a different date.

I am travelling in a couple of weeks so have to do my visa application ASAP as I will not be in my home country for the rest of the summer. And so, I have chosen an entry date of 20 days before my semester begins, only because that entry date is 90 days after my VFS appointment.

I am worried that if the embassy does not like my entry date, they are going to reject my demand (which will make things really difficult re. my upcoming travel plans). I am completely fine if they give me a different entry date for my visa.

EDIT: This is for a student visa. I actually took a closer look at my acceptance letter, and it does say that students should arrive 12 days before the start of the semester for an integration week, so from this perspective I would only be arriving 8 days before the suggested arrival.

Visa Entry Date versus Program Start Date

If the consulate does not like my anticipated entry date, will they reject my application, or simply give me a different date?

How far in advance have you requested an entry date for your student visa vs. your program start date?

Applying for long-stay visa three months (and 1 week in advance). ADVICE?

Hello,

I am submitting a long-stay visa form next week. Currently, I will be submitting it 98 days in advance on my anticipated arrival date (student studies).

I see that on the website it says that applications cannot be submitted more than 3 months before the departure date for long stay visa applications.

Will submitting it 98 days in advance be a problem? I expect that it will only actually arrive at the consulate at day 96-95.

My options are either:

(1) don't worry about it. it's close enough

(2) provide a short letter saying that I'm travelling in a month so I need to do it in advance!

(3) change my arrival date to be a week earlier...

Does it matter how many times I fill out the french visa form?

I made an error on my first form, so filled out a second. I wanted to change my arrival date, so I made a third.

Does it matter how many times I fill it out? Or does it only matter the one that I bring to the VFS appointment.

Can someone comment on my list of documents (exchange student CAN-FRA)

I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts (anything that I am missing) on the list of documents that I have prepared for my meeting with the VFS. Note that I am an exchange student for one semester.

  • My original passport
  • Passport photocopy (all pages with stamps+two blank pages)
  • Confirmation of my student status in Canada (or should I just do my student card?)
  • My exchange acceptance from French university
  • Exchange acceptance from Canadian university
  • Travel insurance
  • The visa form
  • Three bank statements
  • EEF confirmation
  • AIRBNB reservation for first two weeks + letter saying student housing comes out in august

thank you lots of love :)

Short Questions:

(1) I have my EEF number but not the final Espace Campus France approval of my file. Can I still go to my VFS appointment?

(2) How long have you happy people waited for Espace Campus to approve your respective files? I've been seeing anywhere from 1-4 weeks.

(3) Do you think I have a chance of calling them and askign them to do it fast lol, I'm on a time-crunch before my travel date.

I was already accepted at my host institution for an exchange, and I submitted my information to L'Espace Campus France. I got my EEF number when I submitted it, but I am still waiting for the Espace Campus approval. I scheduled my VFS appointment already, and I'm wondering whether it is okay that I do not have my Espace Campus approval by my VFS appointment, considering that I already have my EEF number?! Do you need to provide some sort of letter from Espace Campus saying that they approvedy you, or is my EEF number good enough?

Thank you
