I’d like to eventually upgrade my headlights and taillights with aftermarket models. They seem to meet all regulations except the fact that neither set has integrated side reflectors (amber or red). How likely would my car fail a safety check in this scenario?

I know in my state (HI) they’re required, but I’m not sure what the actual importance level is at a safety check station. Should I apply reflectors myself to comply? Does anyone have experience with a situation like this? Thank you!
