With the change of rules to allow plug in solar. I’ve identified a space to install 2 panels and from other threads I can see that panels from city plumbing are often recommended.

My current thoughts are to add a portable battery to the setup.

On looking at my smart meter stats I rarely exceed 800w in any given time slot and typically use 8-10kw per day.

What I’m curious about is how the stored power is used. Does it deplete first then use the grid, is the draw shared across battery / grid or is there another scenario I’ve not thought about

I don’t want to go full blown install as I’m planning on moving in the next 12-24 months so want a system I can take with me.
