Am I wrong for planning to move out over my roommate’s weird nightly behavior?
For the past few weeks my roommate has been leaving our apartment every single night around 2 AM. Same time. Same routine. She barely leaves during the day, but every night without fail she disappears for hours.
I tried asking her about it casually at first and she got strangely defensive. Now she either ignores me or acts like I’m weird for noticing.
At first I was concerned. Now I’m honestly exhausted and irritated because she wakes me up every single night with the door, drawers, locks, everything.
But the thing that pushed me over the edge happened last night.
She left like usual, and maybe ten minutes later someone started trying our apartment door handle from the outside. Not knocking. Just slowly testing the handle. I sleep really light so I cannot be imagining this!
Just this morning she acted completely normal and wouldn’t tell me what that was about. I asked her directly if someone was following her or if I was in danger and she literally just said, ‘You’re being dramatic.’
At this point I’ve already started looking for somewhere else to live because she's being weird and I’m tired of being anxious in my own apartment. My whole family and friends think I should move out!
Would I be overreacting if I requested her to break the lease over this?
