Hello,

I got a Uro last Sunday at a reptile convention, we have a 120 gallon tank with 80% play sand and 20% top soil mixture substrate with 85 degree cool side and 110 degree basking spot. The humdity is higher than we would like at 35% but we have placed a dehumidifier in the enclosure and added more ventilation to the side in hopes to get it closure to 10-15%.The Uro as of today has yet to eat and we have been provided dark greens with small amounts of bell peppers daily. The Uro hides under its basking spot hide set up pretty much all day and does not come out for the most part. We are worried something else may be affecting the lizard and we need input on how to move forward to make sure the Uro is in a safe healthy environment and not stressed. We have not been taking him out of the enclosure this past week and only open it to replace the greens with fresh ones daily. Is this common and normal behavior for the species? We where told they are more active bearded dragons but currently our three beardies are a lot more mobile then our Uro and our Uro basically sleeps all day.

Side note: The enclosure also has lots of plants such as aloe, succulents, and lots of hides (three total), one being made of brick and stones, the other a log hide, and lastly a typical petsmart corner hide.

I went to a expo this weekend and got my first hognose. I talked to the breeder and they said he was fed once every 4-5 days and on monday/tuesday.. so yesterday was this first feeding in the new home. He ate it pretty quickly and is doing amazing! He is very sweet but I am leaving him be so he can settle in. Hopefully more good signs to come! Please give me any hognose tips and tricks as this is my first and only hognose/snake.
