Hi guys!

I hope you can help me☺️.

After a year and a half of recurring symptoms (itching, external burning while peeing, discharge) i finally found out what the problem was: ureaplasma parvum.

My urologist suggested me not to treat it and he diagnosed me with provoked vestibulodynia (which might be true, but i believe that I also have to treat ureaplasma before going further). He made the diagnosis through a swab test, but I believe that the burning I felt during the test could actually be related to ureaplasma. He also diagnosed me with pelvic floor hypertonicity which I am currently treating.

My gynaecologist prescribed me 8 days of doxicicline: the first day two pills together, then 1 pill per day for the following 7 days. At the end of this therapy, my discharge was gone and I only felt a slight burining, but after 3 days all symptoms slowly came back.

This happened at the end of February.

Now I am waiting for the follow-up swab, but I believe that ureaplasma is still there, cause my symptoms are the same (burning, itching and discharge). So my question is: which therapy do you recommend after the previous treatment failed? I’m afraid of antibiotic resistance.

I am actually scared cause that treatment wasn’t clearly enough. I tried many times to do culture swabs in order to detect the right antibiotic, but they always come negative. In my case, only the PCR swab (after many attempts and money spent) detected the infection. So I don’t know how to find the right antibiotic and I’m really afraid after that failed treatment.

I really hope that you can help me, this problem has been affecting my life, mental health and ultimately my relationship.

Thanks!
