Has anyone taken their toddler out of nursery because of constant illness? What happened after?
Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone else has gone through this.
My toddler has been in nursery, and it feels like they’ve been constantly picking up viruses, colds, and other infections back to back. It feels like we’re barely getting a week or two of them being well before something else starts again. It’s really effecting our mental health and this can’t be good for our toddler to get ill this often.
We’re starting to seriously consider pulling them out but I’m unsure if that’s the right decision long-term.
Has anyone done this? If you took your child out of nursery because of frequent illnesses:
Did it actually help reduce how often they got sick?
How did it affect them later when they started reception?
Did it make any difference to their immune system in the long run?
Or did they just end up getting everything anyway when they went back?
I’d really appreciate hearing real experiences, as we’re a bit stuck on what to do.
Thanks in advance.
