Im playing gothic 2 for the first time and im not sure if im understanding the transition properly. Killing the sleeper is what brought down the magic barrier, altho i dont understand why. Is the sleepers defeat what causes beliar to form an army led by dragons? Was the sleeper some kind of avatar of beliar?

Also was the presence of the sleeper what caused the barrier to expand beyond the intended area?
