M5 pro chip memory pressure

Compared to my MacBook Pro 2019 (intel, 32GB, 1TB ssd) the memory pressure on my new MacBook Pro M5 (Pro chip, 48GB, 1TB ssd) is significantly higher. with the same load, on the intel one, it was always green.

Just out of curiosity, why is this?

as a side note, the difference on the M5 is day and night, you know, the fan noise alone is a game changer. No regrets
