This question serves for me to generally understand the capability of pre-modern societies in dealing with crises.
By "zombie apocalypse," I mean a scenario where everyone upon dying becomes a zombie, and zombies themselves also transmit a virus which guarantees a lethal fever. Let's assume that we're dealing with either "slow" or "fast" zombies, where the latter are as capable physically as humans but pumped up on adrenaline.
Context: I'm pretty sure that modern society would easily survive any zombie apocalypse. However, primarily due to the prevalence of disease, I think that pre-modern societies would be incapable of dealing with the initial shock, so even with slow zombies you'd quickly have massive hordes that probably can't be overcome with pre-modern weapons.
