Biopsy says “Hashimoto type” but endo says I don’t have Hashimoto’s?

I’m honestly really confused and frustrated with my endocrinologist right now and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

For the last 5 years, my labs have consistently shown hyperthyroidism. My TSH has repeatedly been less than .01, and my T3/T4 levels have been in the high range. I understand that this means I’m hyperthyroid, and I definitely have hyperthyroid symptoms.

A few months ago, my endocrinologist tested me for Graves’ disease again, but it was negative, just like every other Graves test I’ve had over the years.

Recently, I had a thyroid biopsy done and the pathology results stated: “Benign. Lymphocytic thyroiditis; Hashimoto type.”

Despite that, my endocrinologist is saying I do NOT have Hashimoto’s and is refusing to check my TPO antibodies because she thinks I just have a hot nodule. She now wants me to do a radioactive iodine uptake scan.

I’m frustrated because I feel like the biopsy findings should at least warrant antibody testing, especially since the report specifically mentioned Hashimoto type thyroiditis. I know Hashimoto’s is more commonly associated with hypothyroidism, but I’ve also read that some people can have a hyperthyroid phase or Hashitoxicosis.

Edit to add: I also want to mention that my bloodwork wasn’t consistently tested in the last 5 years I have been showing hyper. I was tested 4 times in the past 5 years. So, I am unsure if it is completely accurate for the endo to state that I was hyperactive the entire time because my thyroid levels were not tested consistently. I also had 2 pregnancies in the last 5 years.

Has anyone else had biopsy results suggesting Hashimoto’s while still being hyperthyroid? Did your doctors still check TPO antibodies even if Graves was negative? I just feel really dismissed and confused at this point.
