The last 1-2 years the IT job market has been very bad because of the emergence and immense popularity of AI. Companies stopped or significantly reduced hiring juniors because their tasks could now be done by AI or AI could boost the productivity of seniors so juniors were no longer needed.

However this leads to a problem in the longer term: without juniors there wont be any new seniors. Seniors don’t stay forever so I think companies are now hitting a brick wall and seeing that without any seniors directing AI it becomes pretty useless.

I think the descision to stop hiring juniors has now come back to bite companies in the ass and I predict we’re going to see an increase of hiring in the upcoming time to make up for the past years of very reduced hiring, and I think it’s already happening now.

What do you guys think, am I wrong for predicting this or did you also notice this shift in the job market already?
