I have been getting keratin hair extensions for almost 15 years now. I usually get Great Lengths hair extensions and I loved them for the first 10 years. Unfortunately, something strange has been happening the last several years. I’ve been losing extensions like crazy starting a few weeks after they are put in. They either slide out or come out at the top and I have to pull them out.

This never used to happen when I first started getting hair extensions and I used to be pretty careless with them and didn’t really pay too much attention to what type of shampoo/ conditioner I used. I recently switched to a different brand of hair extensions but they are still keratin bond extensions and I was hoping that would solve the problem but they are still coming out.

I usually wash my hair several times before they are applied and I don’t use any conditioner. I then try to go as long as possible before washing them or getting them wet- I can sometimes go up to 5 days.

I’m getting a new set put in next week and I really want these to last without coming out because they are too expensive to lose this many each time. And this never used to happen.

Can you tell me what is the best shampoo/ conditioner to use before and after getting the extensions put in? I want to do everything right.

If you have any other tips or suggestions I would appreciate it because I’m spending too much money getting them put in to have them coming out each time now. I haven’t switched stylists or anything else.

Thank you!
