I am Pacific Islander and am interested in taking this course. Has anyone taken any classes with Prof. Justin Luuga before and if so, would you recommend? I am taking 12 units and if I add this class, it would be 15 units for me.
Context: 35+ 4.0 player who has been playing for a year and half. No tennis background.
I am based in Southern California and am curious about how local tournaments are structured in other areas. Here, we have two main organizations, CAPA and iPickle. CAPA allows players to use either USAPA or UPA-approved paddles, while iPickle does not allow UPA paddles.
I would be interested to hear from others who participate in local tournaments. What rules does your area have regarding paddle approval? In your experience, does using a UPA paddle make a noticeable difference when playing against one?
