Hello guys. I have a Mini-D plugin which I quite enjoy, but the latest Memorymoog Classic simply blew my mind. I felt that it gives me way more than the Mini-D, sound-wise.

I am really tempted to get one, but my finances are in shambles (outer circumstances, not my planning). I may still pull a string while there is a sale, but want to ask what you guys think.

Do I have a recency bias? Or Memorymoog plugin really sounds way more enjoyable and capable than Mini-D?

Hey fellow HoMM3 enjoyers. What is that you’d say is a better representation of the updated gameplay among these two new games?

OE definitely tries hard to be the HoMM3 v.2.0, but at least the demo falls into a cookie clicker numbers game with millions of units and there is no incentive to play manual battles as autoresolve always has you covered with no casualties.

People tend to say Science & Fiction is a way more faithful representation, but from the screenshots I just can’t see it.

People who had a good amount of time on both, what say you?

Hey. So I am reading the book ‘2666’ by Roberto Bolaño and there is a movie mentioned. He describes a Japanese horror movie which almost exclusively sounds like Ringu… but the book was written before the movie came out, and it’s 1995 in the book, and the characters watched the movie several years ago.

Also some minord details don’t match Ringu, although most does, including the phone call in 7 days. In the described movie, two schoolgirls talk about the case when a little boy went to Coba and wanted to record his favorite show while he plays outside, but he’s from Tokyo and there is nothing on the Channel 34 in Coba. Instead, VHS records a woman who tells that he’s to die in 7 days, which he does, and the girl telling about that also almost dies from laughter (what does she know yet…)

Is there a movie so similar in concept? Or it could have been some obscure TV series?
