I got the new YouTube Music update today, and this honestly feels like change for the sake of change. I’m not against redesigns, but this one removes useful features and makes basic actions take more steps.
My biggest issue is playlist management. I mainly use one playlist and clean it while listening. Before, I could instantly remove a song from the queue. Now that option is gone, so I have to open the playlist, scroll and find the song, and remove it manually. That's if I find it.
The new half-screen queue/player layout also feels cramped and awkward. If I open the queue, I want to see the full queue immediately, not swipe through extra panels, you can long swipe to get to the old queue screen immediately but man that's one loong ass swipe. but overall not a bad feature in and of itself.
Lyrics getting moved is fine but a downgrade imo especially now that save to playlist on the song screen is behind comments? why? It's a music platform not a social site. It feels like they tried to simplified the UI by removing functionality, but they made it more complicated and made it worse.
But the fact that remove from playlist is gone makes the app almost not usable for me.
