My Instagram suddenly stopped opening and asked me to update my email address even though I already had one linked. I tried multiple emails (including Gmail), received the verification codes, entered them correctly, and then kept getting “Unknown error: Sorry, a temporary error has occurred.”

I’ve already tried:

• clearing cache/data
• reinstalling the app
• using browser instead of app
• mobile data + WiFi
• incognito mode
• multiple devices
• waiting over 24 hours

Now even some recovery pages/buttons don’t work properly for me.

Did anyone manage to fix this recently? If yes, what actually worked and how long did it take?

Also, does this sound like a hack or just Meta’s security bug?
