I’m just a regular dude, stay in decent shape but could definitely lose some weight. I work as a flagger so it’s kinda half active, half sitting in a truck all day. Back in January when I started working out and this job, I started getting what felt like really bad heartburn. Then it turned into pain near my armpit going into my chest, plus back and shoulder pain. Sometimes my heart starts pounding hard too. Doctor said it’s Costochondritis, but honestly it’s been messing with my head bad. When it flares up it feels so real that I instantly think something’s wrong with my heart or I’m about to drop. It’s gotten to the point where I barely even go out anymore cause I’m worried it’ll happen in public. When I’m busy I don’t notice it as much, but when I’m sitting around it hits way harder. I’m on anxiety meds and they help, so I know it’s partly mental, but it still feels real as hell in the moment.
On top of that, I’m supposed to be going to trade school in August where I’ll be climbing utility poles, and I know I need to drop some weight and get in better shape before that. With this chest stuff going on, I don’t even know what workouts I should be doing or if I’m gonna make it worse.
Anyone else deal with this and have it mess with their head like this? And what kind of workouts helped you lose weight without flaring it up?
