A couple weeks ago, we started getting severe weather alerts on our ADT panel for the first time. My wife & I already get alerts on our phones, and we have a city siren system that includes loudspeakers with that give instructions. It's really freaking annoying to not be able to hear the loudspeakers because my panel started screeching & I have to run through the house to shut it up, & it's really freaking dangerous to have to leave shelter to go shut it up as well (because it goes off 2-3 times during each event) so our cats stop freaking out over the shrill noise while we're already trying to keep them calm about the weather.
I already tried calling ADT, & the service rep couldn't do anything. I just want to know who thought this was a good idea to implement with no opt-out, & where can I find them to go sound an airhorn in their ears at the worst possible moments?
