GIS and Jet Lag!
New to the sub! This latest season, I often heard how hard it was to track where challenges are, how many stations each team has, and the total amount of points each team has. As a GIS professional with some downtime, I wanted to try and do something about it!
My solution:
A ESRI dashboard paired with the ESRI Field Maps app.
The Field Maps app allows for teams to make edits to the map while playing the game. These edits to the score, stations, and challenges are then live updated for all teams then the totals are displayed on the dashboard. There's much more under the hood that happens, but that's the gist.
