Over the last couple months it’s been pretty difficult gauging what I should be having my son do.
Currently, he doesn’t get up for school, his alarm goes off and he turns it off and goes right back to sleep. He’s grounded from video games until he gets himself up for school. (Currently going on multiple weeks of this and he doesn’t seem to grasp it).
We have him clean his bathroom and unload the dishwasher…
He half asses both chores to the point me or my wife actually almost decided to take those chores from him.
His room, if we aren’t constantly telling him daily to keep trash out of his room, he wouldn’t ever clean his room.
It’s honestly exhausting having to micromanage a 12 yr old like this.
I certainly don’t remember being like this growing up. I did my chores and got myself up for school. No problem.
Am I expecting too much from a 12 year old?
