My (23F) boyfriend (28M) is upset with me after a drunk encounter he had with another girl
A few nights ago, my boyfriend was walking home drunk from a friend’s house around 1:30am. He called me while he was walking, and we were just chatting normally. While we were on the phone, he ran into a drunk girl walking the opposite direction. They didn’t know each other, but they started talking while I was still on the call.
She was making comments like “let’s lay down together” and “let’s be blind together,” and kind of implying that he should walk her home. He told her he was on the phone with his girlfriend, and she started accusing him of acting weird and kind of yelled at him as she walked away.
Afterward, he got upset because he didn’t walk her home. He said he felt guilty because her dad passed away last year (it’s a small town, so he knows of her). I told him I felt weird about him wanting to walk a drunk stranger home at 1:30am while she was flirting with him. He then said I’m “not a nice person” and that I’m being insecure.
I asked him honestly if he would’ve walked her home if I wasn’t on the phone and was asleep, and he said yes. That made me feel even weirder.
Since then, things have been off between us for days. I’m torn between feeling guilty for him not walking her home safe and also not trusting him. Am I insecure and unkind for feeling off towards him?
Also to add, we are long distance.
