Potty Training Rewards
My daughter is willful and temperamental, like all two years old, I'm sure. Some days she's all for using the potty, other days she wants nothing to do with it. Unfortunately she needs to be trained by the fall for activities, but we cannot get any real consistent interest from her.
Sticker charts worked for a bit, but she's lost interest since rain and then a cold put off her last reward for a bit and we can't entice her back. I'm very tempted to give her a candy or something every time she goes, but we also really make an effort to not associate foods as rewards. We really want her to have a healthy relationship with food (an issue on both sides of our families) and we have always avoided it so far. She rarely gets candy as it is just because we don't really keep it in the house, so I'm sure it'll probably work. At least for a little bit.
Has anyone else who used treats as potty training bribes found their to be any negative consequences?
