There are some important updates to the death certificate for Celeste Rivas ... the document now reflects the fact the L.A. County Medical Examiner says she was murdered ... and it's now unknown if she'd been pregnant in the year before she was killed.

TMZ obtained Celeste's new death certificate, and it no longer says she was NOT pregnant ... now that section is marked "U" for unknown.

The new certificate says the cause of death has been corrected from "deferred" to "multiple penetrating injuries"

...and the manner of death is updated from "pending investigation" to "homicide."

The document was also corrected to say the injury date, hour, place and location are unknown ... and the section stating "Describe how injury occurred (events which resulted in injury)" now says "with object(s)."

D4vd is charged with murdering Celeste, mutilating her body and having sex with her before she turned 14 years old. He's pleaded not guilty.

Celeste's death certificate was first released back in September, a few weeks after her body was found dismembered and decomposing in the trunk of D4vd's Tesla. There was a lot of missing information because the investigation was in its infant stages.

Disgusting new alleged details have emerged in laying out exactly how prosecutors were able to charge D4vd with the murder of Celeste Rivas.

According to legal documents, obtained by The California Post, investigators say the singer, real name David Burke, ordered an Uber to deliver Rivas from her family home in Lake Elsinore to his Hollywood Hills home on the night of April 23.

He then allegedly stabbed her to death and stood by while she bled out, the documents state.

The next day, Burke allegedly ordered a shovel from Home Depot from Postmates that was delivered to his home. On May 1, he allegedly ordered two chainsaws from Amazon that were delivered to his home, and on May 5 he allegedly ordered a body bag, heavy-duty laundry bags and a blue inflatable pool, investigators claim.

He allegedly made the purchases under a fake name of Victoria Mendez, according to the documents.

From there, investigators say Burke “took horrifying measures to destroy and discard the victim’s body.”

Burke allegedly placed Rivas’ body into the blue inflatable pool to prevent her blood from making a mess on his garage floor and used the chainsaw and perhaps other tools to cut off her limbs, according to the documents.

Investigators claim they found plastic fragments embedded in Rivas’ remains that matched those found on the pool purchased by Burke on Amazon.

Burke allegedly amputated Rivas’ left ring and pinky fingers because her ring finger contained a tattoo of his name — those fingers were never recovered — according to the documents.

Investigators served a search warrant at Burkes home in September 2025 where they allegedly “discovered evidence consistent with the dismemberment of the victim’s body in the inflatable pool, which contained multiple linear cuts. Several biological samples, which tested positive for blood, were collected within the garage area,” according to the documents.

There’s also sickening details about how Burke and Rivas allegedly met when she was only 11 years old in January 2022. Investigators say the two then began a sexual relationship in November 2023 when Rivas was 13 and Burke was 18.

Investigators say the DNA matched that of Rivas.

Although #D4vd’s legal team has not filed a motion to unseal the search warrants, they did file two motions they considered important. First, they requested that David Anthony Burke be allowed to wear civilian clothing for the preliminary hearing instead of a jail-issued jumpsuit; that motion was denied. Second, they requested that he be allowed to receive a haircut prior to the preliminary hearing; that motion was granted. #CelesteRivasHernandez

I just left the courthouse where I was viewing documents in the #D4vd case. There are 54 sealed search warrants. A warrant was issued as recent as 04-20-26. Although David’s defense team claims they are ready to go forward with the preliminary hearing they have not even filed a motion to unseal these warrants, which the Judge agreed to do upon a motion being filed. #CelesteRivasHernandez

D4vd's staring down some serious charges ... but his biggest concern right now? Looking courtroom-ready for his preliminary hearing.

Court docs show his team pushed for dress pants and a button-down shirt for his Friday hearing ... but the judge shut that down, so he'll be rocking standard-issue jail threads.

But he did score one win - L.A. County Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo signed off on an order Monday telling the L.A. County Sheriff's Department to give him a haircut before the May 1 hearing.

All this while he's facing a mountain of charges --you'll recall he was arrested on April 16 for Celeste Rivas's murder ... then formally hit with charges of first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and mutilation of human remains.

He's pleaded not guilty and is sitting in jail without bail. If convicted, he could be looking at lite behind bars ... or even the death penalty.
