Handle protection for rondel? Have some Longsword questions as well

Just got my first rondel from regenyei, my gauntlet fits quite nicely but I can see how quickly grabbing it will tear the handle up. I’ve seen some people suggest superglue, but I’m trying to limit modern materials in my harness, would soaking in beeswax produce a similar result?

I also placed an order with Kvetun ~1 year ago for an Easton Longsword, I’m sure most of yall are familiar with what happened, but I opted for no refund because tbh it didn’t seem like they could process it, they’re saying potentially another full year to receive the order. What should I do here? Are there any other reputable longswords useable for Harnischfechten that won’t break the bank or take a year to deliver? I live in a very remote area of the U.S. and am ~3 hours from the nearest club, so I can’t just borrow, but as I’m just starting out on my Harnischfechten journey I also don’t want to overinvest and have multiple longswords before having enough experience to justify. Do I just stick to my pollaxe an rondel for another year? Arming sword? Or find an affordable Longsword? What would yall do?

New mail fauld & aventail strap. Additional visor question

Made a new aventail leather a few weeks ago and just redid the leather for my mail fauld. Reworking the mail on the aventail was a much bigger pain than anticipated but im happy with the results. The fauld belt im extremely pleased with how it turned out. Leather projects #3 & 4. Any comments/tips/advice appreciated!

Part 2 of this: I just got a new visor made for the klappvisor, and it is absolutely fabulous. Needs a different mount so I’ve got one ordered from archeo studios who made my bellifortis visor that fits gorgeously. My issue is this visor seems just a little too narrow, it fits perfectly against the bare helm, just seems a little narrow at the top, with the mail. It still seals against the mail, but there’s a gap towards the top, I think an extra ~2mm on the sides or 1° wider and it’d sit perfectly flush. Can I just bend it a bit with wood?

Got a pretty decent collection of Sherry Topaz, been careful to keep out of sunlight, I’ve been told only ~12 hours of direct sunlight will cause them to go clear. Is there any way to stabilize the color/prevent loss? I’d love to facet these for jewelry. Park city jeweler is taking clear ones and irradiating for their ‘desert flame’ and ‘desert sand’ topaz.

Is there anything I can do? Uv resistant clear coat? Annealing? Specific UV wavelengths? Or do I just need to bring them to park city to get beamed
