I’ve been a bather for about 6 months now and I just have some questions.
So, I was not a closer but I was supposed to stay with the closer two hours before their finish time. We’re low staffed so we’ve been closing early, and we were both finished. So, I go to leave and she does too. Our salon lead had told us before that we are allowed to leave dogs that haven’t been picked up yet if it’s past our scheduled time. As long as we tell a manager there’s a dog back there.
The next day I come in and I am told by a manager that we are not allowed to leave if there are still dogs that haven’t been picked up and that I should’ve been the one to stay behind because I get paid hourly. I wasn’t even scheduled to close, but I said okay anyway.
So can we leave or no?? If we can’t, does it HAVE to be me that stays? Because it is annoying for me to have to stay just because I get paid hourly, even if i’m not closing.
Also, is it allowed for them to book dogs an hour before my shift ends? Every shift, I always have at least one, if not two, dogs booked one hour before my shift ends. I thought we were supposed to be given 3-4? It’s just so annoying.
Honestly I really like the job but hate the company. I’m thinking of leaving soon :(.
