My (23F) friend (22F) broke up with her boyfriend (24F) recently, and I was naturally pleased, since it’s one less guy I have to tolerate hanging around the friend group. So the group had a girls night out since we were all happy that our friend was newly single and free, and we wouldn’t have to deal with a guy in our lives anymore.
At the club, I run into her now ex-boyfriend. He confronts me over her cheating on him and says I knew about it. And I was like of course I knew, why are you asking. Then he actually starts getting mad at me saying I should’ve told him. I reminded him that we are not friends. I’m friends with her, and I tolerated his presence since she liked him, same as I tolerate it anytime a friend gets a boyfriend. I had to basically spell it out that I do not owe him anything and have no loyalty to him. My friend could do literally anything to any guy, and I would not care.
As I’ve replayed the incident, I’ve been getting more and more angry that he dared to come up to me and interrupt my evening.
