FTD here with a precious 1 week old baby boy. Looking for some advice from the pros! Context: My girl is breast feeding. She produces well and LO latches great. Last few nights have been seemingly “normal” for a new born. Up every 1-3 hours. We change diaper, swaddle, feed, put down and possibly repeat once or twice to seal the deal. This was until last night LO woke up to feed around 8:30 PM. It’s now 6 AM and he hasn’t stopped! Every time we think he’s ready to put down 5 minutes later you hear him going at his hands like a little monster and then the crying ( it’s really cute when your not exhausted) There was maybe about 30-40 minutes in between where he fell asleep. Other than that he wants nothing to do with anything but the boobie.

I gave in about an hour ago and stuck a pacifier in his mouth. Which turned down the volume to a beautiful little squeaking noise. He really enjoyed the pacifier. But great now I feel guilty 😞 will this interfere with his nursing? He already has a super strong latch. Should I feel guilty for giving him the pacifier?

I’ve seen people say to supplement with formula to help aid sleep? Should I do that if there is an over extended feeding window?

Possibly have the wife pump to have some milk ready for the unexpected ? ALSO FEELING GUILTY as our lactation counselor advised not to pump or bottle feed until 3 weeks.

Any advice would be appreciated!
