Weird benefits 4 weeks into fasting.
Hello, I’m new to fasting, just jumped into 18/6 by skipping breakfast, black coffee only. What I like is that the two meals I do eat are larger so I’m not hungry all the time by eating more frequent smaller meals. I was always going to bed hungry counting calories but with a larger dinner, I’m golden. Makes the next morning easier as well.
One drawback that I think is becoming a positive is no matter what I eat, even if it’s just protein for lunch, I get VERY tired about 30-45 minutes after I eat. I work shift work so I’ve had insomnia and sleep problems for years. I’m getting more power naps after my big lunch and I’m sleeping better at night. It’s weird. I’m still trying to figure out why a lower or no carb meal feels like I just ate a huge plate of pancakes from a sleepy perspective, but the naps really help me the rest of the day. So for my weird situation, it’s somewhat of a positive.
To those of you more experienced fasters , is any of this problematic? Could it lead to issues of some sort I’m not aware of? My main goal is to lose fat and I’m losing about 3/4-1.25 lbs each week and it feels sustainable. Thanks for the feedback.
