I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but as a result the search function is less useful
I'm currently with EON, but can switch. Location is West Berkshire
I have a small plug-in hybrid (VW GTE - small 8KW capacity and slow 3.6KW charging) but as I live in a block of flats I can only access public charging
EON doesn't appear to have any discounted public EV charging offer. Octopus might but all the info I see on their website assumes that you would have a home charger (or at least the ability to plug in there and get an off-peak rate). I don't. My *only* charging access is public chargers
Do any providers offer a discounted rate for customers that can't charge at home?
I am not interested in paying a monthly fee for access as that would never be cost-effective
My closest public charger is a streetside "bollard" charger about a ten-minute walk from home. There are a few on a residential street with uncontrolled parking, so often ICE vehicles are in the spaces. Given the small battery on the GTE, I would need to charge twice a week probably to accommodate my local driving
Obviously even with the increased petrol prices the charging is not going to be a major cost, but since I am in a position to switch, I wanted to check. Thanks for any insights
